Cloud migration services with the downtime limit in writing.

We move your business software to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or a simpler cloud for a fixed price. We rehearse on a copy first, and your old system stays on until you're sure.

Is your server running out of support?

When support ends, security fixes stop. If you're on one of these, a move is the natural time to upgrade. The counters update every day.

We run the whole move on a copy of your system, so the surprises happen where they can't hurt.

We set it after the rehearsal, before the real move. Go over it and you don't pay the last third.

Four ways to move, in plain English.

Most cloud migration strategy comes down to these four. We recommend one for each thing on your list, and your quote says why.

Box on a hand truck heading to a cloud

Move it as is

Also called lift and shift, or rehosting

Same software, new home. The fastest and cheapest way out of an old server room.

Best for software that works fine and just needs a safer place to run.

Least effort
Server with a gear being swapped

Move and upgrade the parts

Also called replatforming

Same software, but the database and backups become managed services, so there is less to look after.

Best for apps with a database you are tired of patching.

Some effort
Blueprint, hammer and a new cloud-shaped house

Rebuild it for the cloud

Also called refactoring or cloud modernization

Parts of the code change so the app can grow and cost less to run. Quoted separately, as legacy modernization.

Best for software you will keep for years, or that is too old to move.

Most effort
Old box dropping into a recycling bin

Retire it or leave it

Also called retiring or retaining

Not everything should move. If nobody uses it, we say so. If it is fine where it is, it stays.

Best for old tools and anything tied to on-site hardware.

No move needed

Which cloud, and what will the bill be?

We don't resell any of them and take no commission, so we recommend the cheapest one that does the job.

AWS

The widest choice of services. A good default for custom software that will grow.

You would use: EC2, RDS, S3

Microsoft Azure

The natural home if you run Windows Server, SQL Server or Microsoft 365.

You would use: Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Blob Storage

Google Cloud

A strong fit for data and analytics work, or if your team already runs on Google.

You would use: Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage

DigitalOcean

Simple pricing with plenty of traffic included. Often enough for one or two small apps.

You would use: Droplets, Managed Databases, Spaces

One small app, monthly list price

ItemAWSAzureDigitalOcean
App server, 8 GB memory$70$70$48
Managed database, 8 GB memory$116$130$122
Total a month$186$200$170
Storage and trafficExtraExtraIncluded

AWS and Azure each give 100 GB of outbound traffic free a month. DigitalOcean includes 140 GiB of database storage and 5,000 GiB of traffic.

Our bill promise: your quote includes a written estimate. If your first full bill comes in more than 20% over it, we tune the setup for free until it's inside.

Windows costs more

On Azure, the same 8 GB server is about $70 a month on Linux and $137 on Windows.

The moving tools are often free

Azure's server migration tool is free for the first 180 days per machine, and AWS has a free period too. You still pay for the cloud resources they use.

You can leave later

AWS, Google and Microsoft have all announced free data transfer for customers moving out, each with its own conditions.

On-demand list prices in US regions at 730 hours a month, checked November 4, 2026, before backups and commitment discounts. AWS m6i.large and db.m6g.large (2 vCPUs each). Azure D2s v5 and PostgreSQL D2ds v5 (2 vCPUs each). DigitalOcean 8 GiB Droplet and 8 GiB PostgreSQL (4 vCPUs each). Google Cloud is quoted the same way on request.

After the move, everything is yours.

Questions about cloud migration.

Straight answers on cost, downtime, data and which cloud to pick.

01What are cloud migration services?

Cloud migration services move your software, databases and files from your own on-premise servers or an old host to a cloud provider such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. A good one plans the move, tests it on a copy, switches over with as little downtime as possible and leaves your team able to run the new setup.

02How much does cloud migration cost?

Our prices are per item: $2,300 for the cloud setup, $1,600 per application or website, $1,400 per database, $1,100 per server and $600 per file store. One app with one database comes to $5,300. Moves over 15 items get a written quote, and every quote arrives within 24 hours.

03How long does a cloud migration take?

About three weeks for one app and its database, and about four weeks for a small office. The usual delay is access, so the sooner we can see your current systems, the sooner we can rehearse.

04Will my business go down during the move?

Usually for a short window, at night or on a weekend. The rehearsal tells us how long the switch really takes, and we set your downtime limit in writing before the real move. Go over it and you don't pay the last third. Some setups can switch with almost no downtime, and we'll say if yours can.

05What will we pay the cloud provider each month?

It depends on what you run. One small app with a managed database lists at about $170 to $200 a month before backups, file storage and extra traffic. You pay the provider directly, and we add no markup. Your quote includes a written estimate. If your first full bill comes in more than 20% over it, we tune the setup for free until it's inside.

06Which is best: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?

It depends on what you run. Azure usually suits Windows Server and SQL Server, AWS suits most custom software, and Google Cloud suits heavy data work. A simpler cloud can be enough for small apps. We offer AWS migration services, Azure migration services and Google Cloud moves, and we take no commission from any of them.

07What is lift and shift?

Lift and shift means moving software to the cloud without changing it. It's the fastest way off an old server, but it doesn't always lower your costs by itself, so we often upgrade the database or backups at the same time.

08Can you move old or custom software?

Usually, yes. If it runs on a server, we can move that server. If it's too old to run safely anywhere, we'd look at modernizing it first.

09Do you handle database migration?

Yes. We move MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases, compare every table before and after, and rehearse the switch on a copy. Database migration is $1,400 per database.

10Can you move us off VMware?

Yes. We can move VMware machines to AWS, Azure or Google Cloud as they are, at $1,100 per machine. Support for vSphere 7 ended in October 2025, so if you're still on it, this is a good time to decide.

11Is moving to the cloud worth it for a small business?

Cloud migration for a small business is often worth it if your server is aging, its support is ending or nobody wants to look after it. The cloud isn't always cheaper month to month, so we show you the expected bill first. If staying put makes more sense, we'll tell you.

12Why hire a cloud migration company at all?

A small move is doable in-house, and many of the tools are free or cheap. You hire help for the rehearsal, the switch night and having someone answerable if it goes wrong. If you only want cloud migration consulting, we can write the plan and your team can carry it out.

13Is our data safe during the move?

Data moves over encrypted connections, and the new setup has its access rules and backups in place before any data arrives. Your old system stays untouched until the move is finished and you've signed off.

14What if we want to leave or move back later?

You can. The cloud account and the setup code are yours. AWS, Google and Microsoft have also announced free data transfer for customers moving out, each with its own conditions.

15What do you need from us?

One person who knows the systems, read-only access to them and a list of what runs where. If you don't have that list, we'll build it with you. We work by email, so there are no standing meetings.

Send your list. Get a fixed quote in 24 hours.
